With more than 30 years of experience in the business intelligence and data management industry, Laura Reeves has established herself as one of the leading experts in developing and implementing innovative solutions to meet specific enterprise needs. A well-recognized author, educator, and management consultant, Reeves has continued to generate new enterprise data solutions and strategic business intelligence models. Her work sets the standard for practical, creative, and expansive answers to the data enterprise questions companies face across their entire data technology environments.

As a Managing Consultant with Metaphor during the 1980s and later with StarSoft Solutions, Reeves has led high-profile, high-impact business intelligence and data management engagements within global Fortune 500 corporations and government entities for more than 30 years. As Co-Founder and Chief Consultant at StarSoft, she has established the company as one of the world’s leading business intelligence, data management, and analytics advisory firms. Her engagements have encompassed enterprise data, data architecture, analytics, governance, security, master data, reporting, future state planning, and Agile data architecture.
In addition to her consulting work with StarSoft Solutions, Reeves has spent more than 20 years as a Faculty Member, Keynote Speaker, and Best Practices Judge with The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), the leading global provider of business and technical education, research, and best practices. She has developed and led numerous courses, workshops, onsite education seminars, symposiums, and summits in advanced and emerging areas of enterprise data management, Big Data, and business intelligence. Through curriculum development, leading Keynote addresses, and participation in cross-disciplinary panels and task forces, she has consistently been at the forefront of the rapidly evolving enterprise data landscape.
Prior to launching StarSoft Solutions, Reeves spent nine years managing high-profile management consulting engagements with Metaphor. While progressing from Systems Engineer to Managing Consultant in just four years, she led countless business intelligence and decision management system implementation engagements with mid-to-large corporate accounts throughout the U.S. and Canada. She began her career with General Motors/EDS where she specialized in systems analysis, programming, and project management. In this role she helped develop first-generation decision management, marketing analytics, and product planning systems.
As the creator of Business Dimensional Modeling and one of the leading global experts in business intelligence and data warehousing, Reeves has published and contributed to numerous books, articles, columns, and white papers. She authored A Manager’s Guide to Data Warehousing, coauthored the first edition of The Data Warehouse Lifecycle Toolkit, and was a contributing author of Building A Data Warehouse for Decision Support.
Reeves completed a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Alma College, where she graduate magna cum laude with Departmental Honors.
